There are many mobile detailers out there competing for your business, but at Suds Auto Detailing we feel that we provide our customers with the greatest value.
We started in this industry as mobile detailers. We’ll continue to provide mobile detailing services. But as we’ve grown, we discovered that there are many jobs that are beyond the scope of being done in one day in somebody’s driveway. We felt the time was right to open a shop and address the needs of customers looking for more advanced work on their vehicles. Work that can more easily be completed in a shop environment.
So, why choose a shop? Why choose our shop over the competition?
Time
One of the biggest advantages to working in a shop is also one of the most simple: time. Time is a mobile detailer’s greatest adversary, especially in the winter when the usable hours of light shrink to their lowest. It’s very difficult to complete high-end jobs such as ceramic coatings or multi-stage paint corrections in a single day’s work, and it’s even more difficult as a mobile detailer to organize a multi-day job. Having a shop allows you to do large jobs and ensure that the vehicle is properly stored between working sessions. In addition, certain jobs can require a curing period, and having a proper place to store it means a greater quality end result to the customer.
Greater Control
Your environment is something that a mobile detailer has to work around, not with. In a shop, however, you can ensure that your environment is ideal for the job that you’re doing. There are a wide variety of products that simply can not be used in direct sunlight, many of which are very valuable. Similarly, a lot of ceramic coating and polishing is highly dependent on the temperature, and a mobile detailer, unable to control the temperature, will either have to cancel a job or do it improperly. Simple, unavoidable weather such as rain and wind will introduce small amounts of dust and debris to the vehicle, causing minor defects which can be avoided in a shop environment.
Additionally, many mobile detailers rely on the sun as their sole source of light, which is sufficient during daylight hours on sunny days for smaller jobs. But when it comes to precision, you can’t reach it consistently by relying on the sun, especially during the colder times of the year. On an overcast day, most mobile detailers rely on small hand lights and faith to ensure that the work is done properly. In a shop, you are able to get a much clearer image of the paint, relying on lights for all your work. Which brings us to the next point:

A shop allows us to carry more effective and more specialized equipment than mobile services, due to limitations of space, mostly. We have a vast array of products for any situation, including dozens of different compounds and polishes designed for different types of paint, and different issues.
We use top of the line Scangrip lights to do our coatings and corrections, granting us a wide array of light colors suited for seeing different defects in different colors of paint, perfectly. This allows us to get into far more detail when doing corrections than a mobile detailer would be able to, particularly on lighter colored cars.
We also utilize a full sized light tunnel, which surrounds the car with artificial sunlight from all directions, allowing us to get the best possible view of the paint.
Secure, insured storage
Jobs that require multiple days of work need to be stored potentially for days or weeks before completion. Rest assured, when your prized possession is at Suds Auto Detailing, it will be worked on and stored in a secure, insured (we carry an extremely high value Garagekeeper’s insurance policy through State Farm) garage style shop in a low traffic area of Temecula. Your vehicle or boat cannot be seen from the outside of the shop during non-business hours.
While we understand that mobile detailing is convenient and sufficient for many customers, and we are dedicated to offering both services to better serve a broader customer base, we feel that many jobs will yield a better end result when completed in a shop environment.
